DESCRIPTION
We have designed the Rap Bar as an emergency snow rappel anchor. It is not designed for taking a fall but a controlled rappel when no other form of anchor is available.
The Rap Bar is made entirely of rugged PVC plastic for maximum strength to minimum weight ratio and meets all UIAA requirements for size only.
Single attachment points allow the RapBar to be placed vertically and if used as a deadman T-slot anchor then we recommend girth hitching a sling or cord around the center of the bar. There is no center attachment point on the RapBar.
When placed vertically, the attachment points are large enough to accommodate accessory cord up to 8mm in thickness
These anchors are easy to carry as they are shorter than the traditional picket length at 49cm (19.25 inches). The RapBar has a durable strike head to avoid splitting the anchor and all the angled corners and tip are rounded to allow it to be stowed inside a pack if needed without damaging the pack and its contents.
The Rap Bar weighs only 150 grams.
